I'm not sure if it is considered legal or not, but it is definitely possible to copy cd music to your computer and then burn it again onto another cd.

Answered: I can not copy files to the CD drive. It tells me that access is denied

Sometimes the cd burner burps and says it's read access only. Go to "my computer" and right click on the cd drive. Click on "Properties" and go to "Recording". Make sure the box for "Enable cd recording on this device" is checked. Mine occasionally un-checks itself. Click ok. Good luck.
