I got a grandfather clock from my parents and it stinks like smoke bad. Do you know how I can get the smoke smell out? I have left it outside in the cold for a few days and that did not help

I am thinking that cold exposure is not a friendly move toward your antique clock.

If you want to mask the odor with something, Virginia ceder oil would do nicely. I am not sure that you can eliminate the odors from years of tobacco smoke exposure. You will need to remove the mechanism from the case before  you do this.
