Can i give my horse the human type of Glucosamine and Chondroitin tablets?
I would advise you not to.
On the internet i have found nothing that says you can't. My horse is 20 and she has arthritis in her front right knee and just wondered if it would work. Me and my mum are trying to find out weather it would be safe. Don't worry im not just a 15yo that trys to give my horse anything. I just want whats best for her. =]
I realize you only want to help your horse. I'd call a vet first and ask though. I know you wouldn't want anything that you might have given your horse to harm it. If the vet says you can give it then they can also give you info on the correct dose. Oh and I have no idea how old you are. I just know you are someone who doesn't want to see animals suffer and I think that is great!
Yes, but you would have to increase the dose because of horses body weight. Also you would need to crush them up and make it palatable or mix it with water and put it in a dose syringe. Several products are made with glucosamine and chondroitin specifically for horses, one of which I have used is called Flex-ese, and you can purchase it from Western Saddlery, based in Pleasanton, CA
I got some horse glucosamine powder for only about £14 and it works great!! =]
Also got some herbal stuff and some old aged food that contained glucosamine
so all her food helps her :)
thanks everyone
