Discuss Samuel Cook's answer to: Why is Horse Racing called the Sport of Kings? Has it always been associated with royalty? Are there any other sports similar to this?

Samuel Cook Answered:

It has always been associated with royalty since the days of the Roman and subsequently, the British Empire. Placing bets on horses was a favorite pastime of most members of British royalty and important aristocrats and hence it earned that nickname.
