When looking for the Creator of a particular type of character in a movie, book or TV Show, would that creator be the Screenwriter, the Director or the Producer?

Best Answer

Yes, but if it was written in a book first, then the author of the book created the character. For example, the person who wrote the story The Wizard of Oz is the creater of the characters. But when a story is written directly for a movie then the screen play writer is the creater. Whoever thinks of the idea for a character is the creater.

It would be the person who wrote the story. The director directs the actors and the producer is the one who puts up the money. So the screen writer or the author of the book is the one who created the charecter.

Thank you, LindaRuth.Smile

And does that apply to TV and the Big Screen?

Most helpful, LindaRuth. Thank you so much. :))

I would bet that it would be the screenwriter because the person that developed the characters would have to have been the person that wrote the script.
