Mold has worked its way underneath the caulk of my bathtub and it looks like I'll have to gut the caulk and recaulk it. Any advice for a first time caulker?

I found it much easier to remove the old  caulking with a dremel tool. Just be careful because it does tend to make a lot of dust, protect your eyes.

Make sure the shower is completely and totally dry.  If you have another bathroom, use only that one for about a week so that every trace of moisture dries up.  If you can stop using the bathroom in question for long enough, you may want to remove the caulk, disinfect the area, and then let it dry for a good week before putting the new caulking in to place.  If you do it too soon and there's still moisture there, you'll only be seeing the mold return.

When you're running the caulk around the seam, the back of a small spoon does a pretty good job of pressing it in to the corners.

You should get eye protector (special glasses) - and - then use a dremel tool.

I would say that if you have decided to re-caulk the bathtub then you should first disinfect it for sure. If you continue with the present one I think you can try out the bleaching powder and see if it works.

If the mold is on any drywall you must cut the drywall out, replace it and then carry on.
