The biggest version of "Hurt" was by Timi Yuro in 1961. (#4 on the U.S. Pop charts)  She never made it to the top-ten again. 

It had previously been recorded by Roy Hamilton in the mid-50s, (#8 on the U.S. R&B charts) and was released by Elvis Presley in 1976. (#6 on the U.S. Country charts)
