Discuss Tippy's answer to: Holidays celebrated in Whitehouse by Obama?

What holidays has Obama celebrated in the Whitehouse?

He also celebrates Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, 4th of July, Veteran's day ect.... He respects everyone, isn't that what a Christian  SUPPOSE TO DO? Before we question whether or not our President is a Christian, we need to sweep around our own front yard and see if we are living up to what a Christian is "SUPPOSE TO DO". Are you doing it Christ way or are you like Burger King and having it your own way? That is the question.

Be Blessed

Be Blessed. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

Mike,

I didn't write the Bible  I only quoted the word of God as it is written in the Bible. Whether it is a general question or not, it was inspired by God, to be written in his Holy Book. I think God has been around long enough and he is wise enough, to know what he is saying. He does not need man to tell him what he meant to say or what he should have said.

My question to you is; "In Jesus' day who were the governing authorities?"  In my Bible those authories were Kings (Presidents), Pontas (Legislature), Governors (Governors), Magistrates (Judges), and Tax Collectors (IRS).

When you get wise enough to re-write God's book then you can tell him what he meant. Until then, God's word still stands.

My advice to you is to take this issue up with the almighty God who the Bible declares makes no mistakes.

Be Blessed  Smile

There are two types of authories, one is Physical, the other is SPIRITUAL.

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 16
10He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

11If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

12And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

13No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

14And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

15And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God

Tippy     I believe that you first have to agree that Christians do not all have the same interpretations of the bible as you do.  If they did all Christians would be in lock step with each other.  Did not John the Baptist fight authority of his time ?   Did not Christ fight the authority of his time when he went to the temple and plundered it ? I believe that we have to take the bible has a whole and dwell more on what the bible as a whole means and not take specific verses from it to fit that verse to what we think it should mean.   I am taking it up with the almighty God and I am also taking it up with you.

Facts Many Christians Find Hard To Admit

Many do not have 'eyes to see and ears to hear'. (Ezek.12:2; Isaiah 6; Isaiah 29:9-14):

Matt 13:10   And the disciples came, and said unto Him, "Why speakest Thou unto them in parables?"

11    He answered and said unto them, "Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given."

12    For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13    Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

14    And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias (Greek for Isaiah), which saith, 'By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

15    For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.' (Jesus quoting from Isaiah 6:9-10).

This lack of having eyes to see and ears to hear is still going on today, as God revealed it would until Christ's second coming.

That Truth is hinted at in Chapter 6 of Isaiah the prophet pointing to Christ Messiah's second coming. This situation has caused, and is causing some of the many confused doctrines of men to be taught today.

Many 'have to' just accept what they are told to believe, because they can't understand The Word for themselves.

II Th 2:10   And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11    And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12    That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Kid, those are questions you will have to ask the Father when you stand before him face to face. I did not write the Bible therefore I did not say it, God did. When, or if you get to heaven those are great questions to ask him.

Sorry Tippy, but there won't be any asking questions or debate when Jesus Christ returns.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).

Matthew 7:21-23 (King James Version)
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Kid/Mike,
You need to read your Bible. I know the words Jesus spoke in the book of Matthew but the word doesn't stop there. You are posting what you think will justify you but what has that got to do with what the Bible says about submitting to authority.?

The whole problem with man is that he wants to pick and choose God's word and choose only those things which is convenient for him. We must be willing to eat the whole word of God or nothing at all.

Matthew 12:36-37

36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Revelation 20: 12
12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

James 4:11-12

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

Romans 2:1-3
Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?

Idle words; works
( Spreading falsehood and gossip, defaming their fellowman, praying for someone’s destruction, hate , malice , prejudice ect….. These things will be judged by God himself).

Romans 12:3  Thus, in virtue of the favor given to me,  I warn each of you not to think more highly of himself than he ought. Let him estimate himself soberly, in keeping with the measure of faith that God has apportioned him.    12:6  We have gifts that differ according to the favor bestowed on each of us.
