Betty,  If you want the post office to hold your mail while you are on vacation, you have to go to the post office and fill out a hold card.  Then the post office will hold your mail for up to 30 days.  You go to the post office to pick up your mail when you come back.  Have a nice trip!

You don't need to go to the post office in person.  You can take care of all of this online at the post office .
