Hinduism... the term was not coined by British! India... erstwhile Bharatvarsha was attacked by Muslim invaders from East several hundred times! For entering Bharatvarsha (now India) these Muslim invaders crossed river Indus. As Muslims pronounced H for I... the Muslim invaders started calling people living east of river Indus as Hindus... and the religion Hinduism!

Primarily Hinduism is never termed a religion... it is always treated as a way of life! Hinduism can also be defined as Sanatana Dharma... something existing from times immemorial Hinduism is the oldest religion of the world. It is Hinduism that gave wisdom of Bhagavad Gita to mankind about 3600 years before now!
