Help with my son's fish!!!

My son won a goldfish at the fair last June.  It's been by himself until about a week ago, we bought another goldfish at Wal-mart.  The old goldfish is going nuts.....following this one around constantly nudging it in the back and side, and won't leave it alone!  Why is that?  Do I need to seperate them? Buy more fish?  I'm thinking the new one is getting really stressed out by this! (I would!) HELP!

It is probably a territorial issue and the old fish is not used to sharing space with other fish.  A larger tank might help, or more fish for the old fish to chase around so the new fish doesn't get all the grief foir being an invader.
