Hi, I'm not certain wether my question goes under your chatagory, but then again I dont know where it does belong at all.. I've got a friend who's going through a very rough time, and i've been trying ...
WOW! Jada is so right in everything she says! You can't make him stop, only he can make the choice to get help. Do you know any of his friends or family members who live closer to him who might be able to sit down, face to face, and discuss his problems? If you don't, just keep doing what you're doing, honey. You're a good friend, but even a good friend can only help so much. Encourage him to help himself by getting into rehab or AA, as Jada said, the troubles in his life are not the cause of him drinking, he's drinking because he's an alcoholic and that's how alcoholics deal with things, both good and bad, in their lives. Do the best you can, but don't ruin your own health over your friend.
I know many months have gone by since you wrote this, and I sure hope things are in the process of working out by now. It's a long journey, but step by step, anyone can make it if they keep making the right choices. Take care, Caitlin. Tell your friend there's a recovering addict on the computer who's thinking of him .
