I had not heard about it. I have to say that my first thought was negative. But when I got to thinking about it, I realized that there are numerous scholarships out there with all kinds of individual criteria.

Scholarships for single parents. Scholarships for people of Swedish descent. Scholarships for Native Americans. Scholarships for low income women. And so on and so on.

And so? Why shouldn't there be a scholarship for white males? The article states that the recipients must demonstrate need, have at least a 3.0 GPA, show commitment to their community and be at least one-quarter Caucasian ~ seems like that would open it up to quite a few students, to me.

Why not?
