Is a juicing diet a good way to detox the body and how long is it safe to go on a diet like this?

I cannot recommend a juice only diet for a couple of reasons. Juice has too much sugar and you do not get enough healthy nutrition. There are several ways to clense and detox your system without getting your system out of balance.

It is not safe to do Extreme Detox Diets, and it is also unnecessary too.

If you combine juicing into your every day menu, you can get the pros without suffering from the cons of an unbalanced nutrition.

Try drinking fresh juice from wake up until noon. Avoid eating only at that time of the day, Before each meal of the day - drink another glass of freshly squeezed juice.

Avoid sugar, alcohol and pastries.

Results are fast and crazy - clear skin, pounds falling off. energy boost...

But you'll have to compare juicers before you buy, because there are so many models, and it depends on what you plan to juice mostly. Try to combine leafy greens with some fruit for a boost of enzymes. For that, the best is a Masticating Juicer type.
