Read the last paragraph of the web page for the answer to your question.

I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

No it will not. Medicaid usually cover most medical expenses for people who really need it, but you dont need a gastric bypass. Some insurance companies will cover it if they think your future obesity problems for them will outweigh the cost of procedure. Most doctors wills work with you on expenses and financing but I suggest diet and exercise instead. A person becomes fat through lazyness, and a idea of a "quick fix" isnt a good way to start a path to becoming healthier.

Rules for coverage vary between states, as Medicaid is a Feceral/State program.  Though I am not an expert on Medicaid coverage, my knee jerk reaction is that it would be considered like cosmetic surgery and probably not covered.  If mortally obese, you may stand a chance.  Contact your local state Medicare or Social Services agency to be sure.

Medicaid  in  most states has became a  Medicaid Hmo  such as  Gateway, Upmcforyou, Unison..In which you would  need  a  prior authorization..You got to be 300 lbs or more  to qualify ..Some will do it  depends on the persons  height and weight

I certainly hope not! People who eat themselves into oblivion, while sitting on their fat asses, don't deserve govt. handouts. Just WHY do you think the American taxpayer should have pay to undo the damage to your obese body, caused by your own gluttony.? Like "Thesolutionist" said, the idea of a quick fix for your morbid obesity is no way to start a plan to become healthier by gastric bypass.

Any woman, regardless of height, (and the shorter the worse it is) when you hit 180 to 200 pounds, should decide right then and there, to take the bull by the horns and get moving, and quit shoveling.

Obesity isn't a disease, unless you happen to be one of the unfortunate ones with Cushing's disease or some kind of bizzare hormonal imbalance, which I highly doubt, YOUR only problem is gluttony and laziness. And that can be "cured" very quickly with diet modification (no more MacDonalds and Burger Kings, bags of potato chips, gallons of pop or ice cream) and excersizing. If you hadn't gained it in the first place, you wouldn't be worrying about it now.

Don't expect the American taxpayer to take care of your your sorry lard ass, learn how to take care of yourself!

Yesterday's gone and Today is going fast, Tomorrow is all we have, Until it to has passed Band of One

Annette, you certainly are a legend in your own MIND.  What are some of your other hobbies, brain surgery?  You're ridiculous.

Patience my foot, I'm going to kick some butt!

Yes.  At least in the State of New York they will. They will pay for Gastric Bypass Sleeve (1/3 stomach), Total Gastric Bypass, and they will pay for the Band.  You must lose a prescribed amount of weight before surgery.  The doctor who is going to operate will determine how much that is.  You must go through a battery of test, including a psychologist, nutritionist, your internist, pulmonary specialist and if you have existing medical problems all your doctors will need to clear you.  Don't worry if you want this you will do what you have to do.  I know I did it and I feel like I'm born again.
