If it's hand free, what's the concern with germs? For that matter, what's the concern with germs on any faucet? It's like those "touch free" soap containers claiming they're better because they have fewer germs. You touch them before you wash your hands, not after. The real germ issue usually shows up in the drying of your hands, because then you've washed - paper towel levers are bad, and blow dryers can be really bad if you don't completely dry because damp hands pick up even more germs.
