Hi,

I am a physical therapist that treats people with frozen shoulder.  Unfortunately we don't quite understand why some people get frozen shoulder.  Sometimes it is related to trauma but not always.  There are a varitey of factors that can influence who gets frozen shoulder.  To learn more go to:

Frozen Shoulder" most definitely does exist, as health care systems like the Mayo Clinic endorse it as a real syndrome. But, the onset is typically more gradual than an overnight type of development. You could have definitely injured something at the joint, i.e. a ligament, tendon, bursa, etc.physical therapy is good in it.

Frozen Shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, is a very real diagnosis, and a very difficult one to alleviate.  Physical Therapy can help when the shoulder is in the thawing phase, but it is unclear if a physical therapist can make a huge difference when the shoulder is in the freezing phase.
