I recently received results from an MRI taken of my cervical spine. It indicated that i have bulging at the c4-c5 and c6-c7 disc. I have been resting and taking meds as ordered by my doctor while waiting for the results.(about 2 weeks) My pain was pretty severe at first but with the rest and meds it has subsided to tolerable. I now have 2 options, either to have surgery to replace the discs with artificial ones or to try and do meds and physical therapy to see if it will go away naturally. I am unsure what to do but i am leaning on trying to let it heal with therapy and meds. Has anyone tried this for this reason?? If so im anxious to know how this worked for you?? I know everyone is different and every case is different. I am just looking for a little insight to help with my decision. I am a female 39 yrs old 130 lbs. I am in otherwise good heath. Thanks so much!!

Like you said, everyone is different. For me I have similar problems, but mine may be worse. I had 2 rounds of physical therapy with minimal result. I’ve tried a few meds to reduce inflammation and pain with minimal result. Some days I feel fine and others I just want to rip my head off. I have been wrestling with this for about 4-5 years and have not gotten any worse. At this point I have decided not to have surgery, but it’s still an option. I am just afraid that surgery will make it worse for me to deal with it.
