Many clinics and hospitals use electronic records to track patient care. some scan paper reports into the computer system. Others have a combined system with paper charts for paper records, but EMR for recording medical visits.  Our office uses the combined paper records + EMR..  see our web site www.yourcenterforhealth.com .  Medical records are protected information and must be handled securely.  See more about safe document destruction .

Electronic Health Records enable health care providers to store patients' medical information in a computerized format so that it is easily and quickly retrievable.  This improves the quality of medical services by expediting updates and decreasing the risk of inaccuracies.  Data is available immediately to additional providers without the need to send paper documents.
