My elderly mother just started singing and humming constantly. why?

I don't want to speculate.  You should take her to see a doctor as soon as possible as this may (or may not, I don't want to panic you) be a sign of a recent stroke/brain damage.  It may be nothing.  Many people hum and sing at inappropriate times.  It is the constantly that worries me.

Maybe she just wants to sing and hum.  If you feel very concerned, you could always get her checked out.
