Well, there's this Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“PPACA”) enacted in U.S. in 2010 that advises individuals to have health coverage, and requiring “large” employers (50 or more full-time employees) to offer coverage.  These are the “individual mandate” and the “employer mandate,”. However it might only go into effect in 2014.
