In the 7th Harry Potter book

, did they explain how  Harry knew that the horcrux in Bellatrix's vault was a goblet? I thought he just knew one was in there. Did I miss something?

It's in the HBP (book 6). Dumbeldore and Harry discuss the horcruxes, and Dumbeldore takes Harry through a memory where Tom Riddles swipes the goblet from the silly old woman who owned it before.

When entering the vault Harry knows what the goblet looks like, and he has a pretty solid idea that it is a horcrux.

Thanks for answering my question. I'v been wondering about that since I've finished the book. I thought maybe I didn't read the book carefully. Now that you mentioned that part in book 6, I'm remebering bits and pieces of that. I'm going to have to go back and read that book again. Thanks alot!

No problem.

I'm actually thinking about starting reading again from the first book...

Now that we have the ending we can seriously look for the hints and red herrings :-)
