why won't my bird go in her "happy hut?"

How can i get my cockatiel to go into her happy hut? I got her from a friend and she is presumably over a year old. She is happy and sweet and I have had her for several months. We live in a cold climate and although we run the furnace in the winter months, it still can get chilly in the house. I bought her a "Happy Hut" in hopes she would go in and stay nice and cozy. She doesn't have much to do with it. She doesn't fuss at it and it doesn't seem to bother her, I have even seen her picking at it a few times. Any ideas??

She is not used to it. I think if she's comfortable where she is, then I think you should leave her alone.

Where did she sleep before ? With you. If so, put a couple ofyour big shirt's or anything tht is soft and smell like you. When he goes in it or before, sitt by him on a chair for awhile till he setteleds down. Let me know

lol / no i understood the question but sometimes i get to fast with my words and thoughts LOL my sister-in-law has one and that is how she trained her's. she layed one of her old pieces of clothing on the floor of the happy hut, first put plastic down if you wish, and change it each day for a month until her bird lucky liked it. use old clothes and they can be washed....anything with your scent will do,..... sleep with a old towel to get your on it. PUT THE TOWEL AROUND YOUR SHOULDER IF THE BIRD SITS THERE LIKE HERS DID...... TO GET THEIR SCENT good luck nanadee
