I have purchased silk flowers and arrangements from Petals for several years. Does anybody know what has happened to the company? Their web site says to check back --- they are apparently having some kind of difficulty. I love their products and really hope they will mail me another catalog or get their website up and running again.
Try contacting the company from whatever contact information they provide on the website to see what's up. Good luck.
I haven't been able to find them either. I love their products and order several things every January when they have a big sale. If they are still in business they are making a serious mistake by not placing contact information on the web page that comes up saying that their site is down.
I called the 1-800 number on a can of silk flower cleaner I have from Petals and received a message that the call could not be completed as dialed. I will keep trying to call the number and checking their website to see if it comes back online. I feel bad because I really like their products and want to order more things, too.
I also have been looking, did they go out of buniesss?
I found this article on the internet about the whereabouts of Petals. I loved them too. They had really nice and good quality things. Let's all hope they bring them back soon.
Decorative accessories manufacturer and marketer Interiors, Inc., Mount Vernon, NY, has completed the acquisition of Petals, Inc., a catalog marketer and manufacturer and of decorative silk flowers and trees.
Terms were not disclosed.
Petals issues approximately 15 million copies of its catalog annually to consumers across the country reaching 2.5 million household..
Petals was the catalog for the parent company Corham, a family-owned business with the showroom and assembly facilities located in White Plains, NY.
The family sold the business and the succeeding company then ran both the catalog and brick-and-mortar business into the ground shortly after taking over.
And I know this why? Because my mom was one of the ... I think there were 6?? floral designers there who designed the prototypes for most of the arrangements available in the catalog.
The handpainted furniture and accessory items in the catalog were from other suppliers.
I found this thread while researching old articles on the company to use on a website I'm putting up to sell the gazillion and one Christmas items we have from that era; in fact, Mom just did some gorgeous silk poinsetta arrangements to add to the collection, but the quote from UPS to ship them was astronomical, making anything but local sales impractical
1.14.2012 Update: I received some emails from this thread asking if it was possible to purchase any items and pay for shipping so I did some research and you can now purchase whatever we have by going to eBay, bookmarking the site for seller "youneedthis2008" (without the quotation marks). He is an experienced eBay seller and has an outstanding satisfaction approval rating of close to 100% from over 800 buyers. I've asked him to include the "Petals" tag in the heading so you can readily identify the items. Hope this is helpful and thanks everyone for your interest
JC Penny had owned them for a while, so all of this must have happened after JC Penny got finished with them. I used to order from them also. I bought the white ornate birdcage and stand from them that had a bunch of silk flowers in it. I loved that piece.
