At Northern Illinois University in February 2008, there was a shooting that claimed 5 lives. In the aftermath, there was debate over what should happen to lecture hall where it happened because students were unwilling to return to it; it was considered that it would be torn down and replaced with a memorial. Later, it was decided that the hall would be remodeled inside and out with updated tech and partially re-purposed; the hall had been due for updates at the time of the shooting.

Nothing should change.  The movie theater had nothing to do with the massacre.  The public should be told this.  Hopefully, most of the people will be rational and agree with me.

Probably a plaque or some sort of tasteful artwork might be appropriate to help remind people (and future generations) of the innocent people's lives that were lost to a heinous crime. Of course one would have to be careful not to present the possibility of the place being used in the future as a shrine to the demented killer by other sicko's. . .
