i had blonde hair with high lights and wanted to have a light brown w high lights so i got light ash brown and now my hair has this blue grey tint. help!! what should i do?

Well, I think the present color has to come out first and then only something can be done.

I think there is only one solution you should color your hair again in its original shape and your hair stating to come out its natural look.

That is not a big  problem and you just need to wash out the dye and never dye it like that.There are more hair knowledge: http://www.hairextensionbuy.com/?cid=lbq

Can I cover over blonde highlights with dark brown hair dyee?

As long as you use a permanent hair color, you should be able to cover up the highlights or at least make them darker. Just be careful with the color you choose, as it will not be exactly what the box color is because of the blonde.
