Not directly.  Pimples basically are caused by hormonal imbalances within the body.  They will occur whether your skin is clean or not.  However, greasy skin can worsen an outbreak, so it is recommended to keep your skin as clean as possible (no harsh scrubbing), especially during puberty and when ovulating.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Pimples are caused when the sebaceous glands located at the base of hair follicles become overactive; the most vulnerable parts of the body are the face, back, chest and shoulders. Pimples are palpable signs of acne, especially when a breakout occurs.
