Only if you are sending it via US Mail.

Depends on the granite. Some granites won't even accept a sealer (in a polished state), others require multiple applications of sealer (regardless of surface finish - polished, honed, leathered, etc). A quick test is to sprinkle some water on the stone. If it beads up you are probably ok (though applying a sealer to a stone that won't take it won't hurt it either, it is just a waste of sealer). If the water soaks in you definitely want to apply a sealer (but only after the water has evaporated back out, which may take a few days, depending on how much water you let soak in).
