George clinton died while in office. Under Thomas Jefferson.

James Madison started his term with George Clinton who was with him 1809-1812.  From 1812-1813 he served without a VP.  Elbridge Gerry became his VP in 1813.  Then 1814-1817 he served without a VP.

When John Tyler took the place of William H. Harrison in 1841 he took office without a VP.
