Did the government abandon the older unemployed and older employed?

It's obvious if your manufacturing career was outsourced under Bush and you were let go from the crap jobs created under Bush then retraining at age 35 or over leaves you up sh----s creek with out a paddle. The current pretz- el head prefers illegals under 30 si that about sums it up.

That Global Trade deals means cheap young labor for the greedy an few good jobs for the rest of us.

I'd say yes, but only partly. Businesses these days, prefer to hire younger employees. They don't WANT to hire older folks. They can't discriminate openly, but they find ways to get what they want. They simply don't want to pay the higher wages an older, well experienced employee would charge, and younger folks may have big salary dreams, but they're willing to work for less.

Job applicants applying for jobs regardless of year of birth do not have the power to demand wage levels. You have to be hired for the job before they will tell you what your wages will be. If you disagree over the offer  they will just withdraw any offer of employment.

The government never cared either way; it's the political parties who've abandoned their constituents.
