Where is the gold dust from? Did you pan it out or was it processede some other way? Finally, how much dust do you have?

Gold dust is a quite uncertain commodity: assay will reveal what is in it, in what percentages, and whether or not it is a commercially viable sample.

Unassayed gold dust might be worth only $150.00/oz, considering the level of contaminants and pyrites that may be in it.

Ultimatly Yes. But it could had been eroded from a secoundary rock, ie sedimentary in which case there may not be a vein, more likley a placer deposit or a sedimentary concentration. Ask a geologist for help if you can afford it.
