Where can ginseng be found?

well ginseng is a threatened species, because the wild plant was harvested so much that its hard to find when not commercially grown or as they call it "virtually wild" grown where they simulate the characteristics of the habitat a ginseng plant would grow in. Ginseng in the Us is found in Washington, Oregon, and anywhere east of the Mississippi river. all other states can reach to hot of a heat for the plant to tolerate because it is not heat tolerant. The plant it self likes hardwood forests with lots of shade. it will usually be on north or east facing slopes, in moist areas. It is found all over Canada in the same habitats as described earlier. In China its found in high mountains, but really its just like everywhere else it is more commercially grown then anything because the wild plant takes to long with less of a crop.
