Discuss Southern 7162's answer to: Giants in the Bible

Is there mention of giants in the book of Genitals...? What happened to them?

In 1 Samuel 17--- the Israelites were in battle against the Philistines.  They had been fighting since the days of Hagar and Ishmael.

King Saul was supposed to fight for Israel but he wasn't much on the battle field.  So, they sent in a shepherd named David bar Jesse.

Philistine giants grew to about seven feet in height as do some central African people.  Gigantism is rare but it happens.  David took his shepherd's sling that he'd used to smack wolves at 150 yards, loaded up, and pelted Goliath in the visor.  The undefeated Goliath lay there, defeated, at the hands of a shepherd.

David was a shepherd, not a warrior.  With God's help, even the most humble shepherd can destroy the toughest warrior.  Without God's help, even the toughest warrior becomes dead meat at the hands of a shepherd.

How many times does history have to prove that?
