General Obligation bonds, can they be brought to defalting by Pensions paid to public workers?

General obligation bond is is secured by the local government of that particular country. I think there is certain criteria for the pension of the public workers which is depend upon the government policies of that particular country.

America does not issue that particular security.  However, retirement professionals have been slowly devesting themselves of T-bills and T-bonds for the last two years because these securities are becoming rather unstable. 

Until we correct the present set of economic miseries we face it may be safer to invest in Canadian securities, percious metals, and foreign bonds.  After November we'll have a better idea as to whether there will be any value to the dollar or not.  As it is, the Greenback has been so severely devaluated that you might as well be spending Monopoly money.
