What is going on with the price on gasoline? should not it be lower since the price on oil has come down some?

Unfortunately, speculators have recently dominated the oil futures marketplace, and therefore gasoline. Traders(speculators) use borrowed money in trading commodities to increase their rates of return. Seasonal fluctuations, as currently, specualtors, the use of oil futures in place of stock trades; all these things point to increased violatility in oil markets, and thus your gasoline answer.
