What do Canadian BLT's mean? I think it has something to do with gambling....
It could either mean Canadian Bacon, Lettuce and Tomatoe sandwhich or salad, or it could be referring to the Canadian BLT Adventure Trip .
I don't t hink it's a gambling term. I think it stands for Budget Lodging Tour.
probably the sandwich cause in usa it means bacon letus and tomatoe
It is far related to gambling , a Budget Lodging Tour. Check the detail here .
It stands for Bingo Lottery Terminal. This is also known as a VLT or Video Lottery Terminal. These are very common in Canada and varieties of it have existed in bars in the US for quite awhile, though not to the same degree or commonality as they are in Canada. These operate much like Lotto in the US, only instead of having someone pick, say, 6 numbers, then needing to hit all 6, they generate 10 numbers or 15 numbers and if you hit 4 you get so much of a payout, 5, a bigger payout, then 6, of course, the maximum payout.
The Pot or Payout is determined by the number of people betting. If nobody hits 6 numbers, the Pot just rolls over (with the house, of course, taking a percentage of all bets, regardless).
In Canada, these are run legally by paying up front, or run ILLEGALLY, by allowing you to continue betting with a bookie. It's just like the mob run "numbers" games in the USA which were extremely popular through until the 1990s when the vast majority of mob leaders were taken down by the FBI. Gambling isn't as frowned upon in Canada as it is by the puritanical American culture.
To get a full run down on what these look like, how the different ones operate, things like that, do NOT do a search on BLT. You'll only receive silly things like you see above like thinking it's a budget lodging tour, or worse, thinking it's a good old American Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato sandwich (ludicrous, of course... How could the Deborah Point homicide be blamed on sandwiches or budget lodging tours, especially when the whole thing STARTED with people playing BINGO!!! LOL!
Instead, do a Google Search (or Bing, or whatever other search engine you may prefer) on either Video Lottery Terminals or VLTs. Because the cards which are spit out LOOK a lot like Bingo cards, they are referred to by some as Bingo Lottery Terminals, not Video Lottery Terminals. If you do a search on that, you'll see a VAST number of explanations, "opportunities" (and I use that word ONLY in quotations, as they are no more opportunities than a roulette wheel and table is an "opportunity"), etc...
Hope this helps.#mce_temp_url#
