You can't change a username, but you can create a new one and redirect all mail to the new one.

Automatic email forwarding

Forwarding is not available by an AOL setting. But many mail systems (like Outlook or Mac Mail) can use POP3 or IMAP to collect your AOL mail, although it may have delays of perhaps 5 or 10 minutes. IMAP leaves your mail on the AOL server, so you can get it in more than one place.
