Here is a review by some @#$^%&%$%^# wannabe wine kindasewer. Or however you spell it.

There was no vintage on this bottle so I can’t compare to and known Californian vintages. I don’t know exactly how to describe the color other then appealing. The nose is of berry, cherry and vanilla, but of the cheap perfume version. It has just a touch of artificial to it. It’s light on flavor, with a medium body. The flavor has no real direction. Lightly oaked. It doses however have the flavors of chocolate covered cherry crossed with a box of California raisins. It’s not bad but with nothing truly noteworthy. It is moderately unbalanced and lacks a quality finish. I would be describing it better as an aftertaste.

I don't think he likes it. It is very possible he would be rated it much higher it it cost $20.00 a bottle instead of $5.00.

I think the following reviewer was quite enamored with this wine.

Ok, my buddy gave this to me because he thought the label was funny. Yes, "Double Dog Dare" is funny. The typography and label design is amusing - a dog leaping through a ring of fire while another dog watches - hence the dare. To my buddy who buys me wine, I toast to you. Thankfully, you're a damn good friend and you won't mind me saying...this sucks. The "Double Dog Dare" could easily have been rubbing alcohol and grape Tang. DDD is a Cabernet in name only - I swear to goodness, the first notes are toast. TOAST. How in hades does a wine get to smell like TOAST?! You don't believe me? Buy a bottle. No, get someone ELSE (like a buddy) to buy a bottle. The flavor is heavy on the turkey - yes, I taste turkey...somewhere during the experience, I did get a little hint of "wine" but the finish was, well...spicy. Spicy as in spicy-in-a-way-that-is-better-for-Mexican-food. Not wine. I can't recommend this wine to Corkd readers. Sorry bud. I love ya like a brother, but don't buy me any more of this. Ok? Ok.

I tried their chardonnay and it wasn't bad for a $3 bottle.  I probably wouldn't serve it to guests, but maybe not bad if you just want a glass on a hot summer day.
