wanda's newsletter/hot apple cobbler This recipe was in Wanda's newsletter a few weeks ago. I meant to print it, but somehow forgot. Could you please send me the recipe, as it it one of my husband's favorites, and he will be 83 next month and I would like to make it for him. Thank you so much!
Wilda, I printed it, so here it is for you:
Hot Apple Cobbler
1 (18.25 oz.) box yellow cake mix
2 (21 oz. each) cans Comstock Country Apple Pie filling
1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup natural sliced almonds
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter a 3 quart dutch oven.
Spread apple pie filling and crushed pineapple evenly over bottom of prepared pan. Evenly spread dry cake mix over apples and then pour evaporated milk over all; drizzle melted butter and then sprinkle sliced almonds over top. Bake about 40 to 45 minutes until light and golden brown. Serve warm or cold with vanilla ice cream.
I hope your husband has a great birthday and he enjoys the cobbler.
