I want to know how maple syrup is made? What is the exact procedure and can this be achieving at home with simple kitchen equipment?

The sap from hard maple trees is collected early in the spring, and heated over very low heat until most of the water content evaporates.  The more water you remove, the thicker your syrup will be.  It may be impractical to make in your kitchen, as several gallons of sap have to be reduced to get a quart of syrup.  If you want to try it anyway, after you get some maple sap, fill the largest kettle you have and heat it over very low heat.  It doesn't even have to simmer, just get hot enough for steam to show over the surface of the liquid.
