Drinking alcohol in moderation is associated with better health and longer life than is either abstaining from alcohol or abusing it. Therefore, I assume that you are referring to negative effects of alcohol abuse.
Many of the negative effects of alcohol abuse can be reduced or reversed by either reducing the level of alcohol consumption or abstaining completely.
The "so called" benefits of drinking alcohol in moderation is not worth the inate risk of addiction which will eventually occur. The human mind can addict it's self to a substance, habit, or activity because of repetition; No chemicals needed.
