How long can you keep canned sardines before they go bad?

I am presuming that you are talking about unopened cans of sardines.

Best to check the use by date on the can and follow that recommendation. Bidden or not, God always enters in. Carl Jung

JHilli2000...Since sardines are so salty, if they are in properly sealed containers, they should be good for at least 5-7, maybe 10 days at the most, too much longer than that and they become soggy from frig moisture.

Thanks for your reply.  I've had them in a sealed can for months.  They are in the garbarge.
