This worked for me:

Right click in toolbar area

Make sure that boomarks toolbar is selected

Select customize

Drag bookmarks icon to empty boomarks  toolbar

Click done

actually i did that and it brought up the icon.. however when i clicked menu bar it brought my bar back up .. thank you :) back in business
