Fiberglass septic tank baffle

I have a 25year old 1000 gal fiberglass septic tank. The pump out guy told me that the baffle was slanted and this is not normal. Another person told me that fiberglass tanks come with a slanted baffle so I am wondering if this is a problem and does it need to be adressed. Any info will be appreciated..

Lynn, I deal with many tanks, and have not seen any with a slanted baffle. There is no point. The baffle keeps your solids from the black water that should seep over and under the baffle. If it needs to be straightened it will need to be fixed in the correct position. This can be done with small brackets and self tapping screws (if you can reach it) -On occasion, i have had to climb into tanks to do this. If the tank has just been cleaned out, now is the time to fix it. Cool
