i disagree with you completly they should first look at the bureaucracy that goes on in the school district, common how many secretaries are needed to make copies for the principal and vice principal? In addition, the problem is not with immigrant kids getting an education for free, as i recall it is called public school meaning everyone that goes to public school gets a free education. The problem lies with the families that lie about their income to get their kids free meals, if they really looked at that how much money could the school district be saving? Its funny to me how the kids who are picked up in their parents brand new trucks and cars are the same ones saying they dont make enough to pay for their childrens school meal.

i agree with the article illegal immigrants are destroyiny our economy and the mayor is helping them do and no one says anything about it the schol board is ran by mexicans so they are going to look out for mexicans and it has taken a toll on the city of los angles and its getting worse illegals are getting health care welfare and childcare what can be done about this

I agree 100% if you are here illegally then you get nothing but a trip home that YOU pay for. Other countries do it why not here ? Or like someone else said "give California back to mexico" they have made such a mess of it. Even the area I live in just 10 years ago was nice now graffiti and illegals everywhere crime up and the so called cops act like there is nothing they can do. in the paast 4 years I have known 6 people in car accidents 5 were caused by an illegal with no paperwork no insurance no reg no drivers lic..and who pays WE ALL DO ! Oh and for those who do not agree thanx for the $30,000.00 you gave me for my wifes accident. What a bunch of BS .....

I disagree, People living here illigally are paying taxes just like all of you ignorants!!!! Do not generalize on people who are trying to live the American Dream.  How about trying to find a solution to a problem thats been happening for years.  Yes, there are people who cheat the system, but that is minimal to what is happening to our great nation.  What about when you go to the Super Market and buy cheap Groceries?  Do you stop and think, who benefits from low prices, because of illegal immigrant being expoited!!!!!!

And gman yes it is true that our forefathers immigrated to this country, but they didn't CRAWL illegally across our borders. They came through Ellis Island, recieved legal documentation and became CITIZENS of this nation. And they came here to BUILD this nation into the once great nation it used to be.

AND it is NOT "our moral" obligation to help and befriend liars, theives and cheats! Even the LEGAL immigrants hate the illegals, because they get lumped into the same catagory as the cockroaches and treated the same!

And when our forefathers came to this country they all spoke different languages. But in order to get along and communicate with each other, they adopted ONE language!!! ENGLISH!!!

When the cockroaches decide to be come legal citizens, quit lying, cheating the hell out of our govt., and stealing from our country, learn and use the ENGLISH language, and quit sending all their money back to mexico to support their home country, get valid drivers licenses and carry insurance and ACT like american citizens, then and only then will they be treated like human beings. Until that day they are just cockroaches that have INVADED our country with an infestation that is destroying the very foundation of the the country our forefathers fought so hard to build!!!!!!

ANNETTE, what happened to Ellis Island? How are immigrants supposed to get citizenship if we don't have programs for them to use? My ancestors were lucky to come over, Irish and German, and now I'm just white american. It's only because some americans think that because they've been here longer, that they think they're better. Why don't we establish an immigration center where people can get citizenship on the border, so that they can get documented and stop putting them down. Nobody seems to worry about white trash who do drugs and live on government money, not even trying to get jobs. Why aren't people complaining about white gangs and biker gangs that are terrorizing neighborhoods? As for speaking english, do you know how many people can't even read? And, what's going to happen if your wish does come true and you get rid of illegal mexican? Are you going to pick our harvest? Are you going to watch our children? Are you going to do construction jobs? Are you going to slave away in restaurant kitchens?
