Can a person be in a relationship, and even marry, a former step-parent, after their Mother/Father is deceased?  I know this commonly happens with a former step-mother-step-son getting married, but what about a step-father and step-daughter?  This would mean that a man married the Lady's Mother after the daughter was grown up, and therefore is an older lady marrying her widowed step-father.

What about someone marrying a former aunt or uncle by marriage?

It is certainly not illegal; these people are not blood relatives so it would lessen the chance of genetic mutations caused by inbreeding.

Therefore, if neither party feels the 'ick' factor others might get at the thought of marrying a former relative, it is entirely their choice.

I would agree to jkgrandma.. If connections aren't of blood, then it is possible and not illegal..

Gahhhh!!! Are you a widowed step-father trying to marry your step- daughter or step- niece??? Well let me tell you this: THAT IS DISGUSTING!!! I mean sure it's not illegal but seriously?? EWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's pretty grosssssssssss....... No offence but I think that only sick twisted old men would do that!!

Like everyone else has said, this is not illegal, as long as the step parent did not legally adopt the child, then there is no legal issue. But if so I am pretty sure there is. But on the other hand there is a large ICK factor to this inquiry! I mean I have a Step-Farther and could never ever think of him romantically! Ewwwwwwww! Same things go this people hooking up with their second and third cousins! I don't care if it lessons the side effects or chances of genetic mutations or not there is still a highly large ICK ICK ICKY factor!

There is nothing illegal about what your talking about, but with all the people in this country why is it necessary to marry anyone that was ever related to you? It just seems a little far out to me, although I know that it seems that everything goes in this day and age.If I was anyone thinking I would think twice about it. Sometimes too much familarity is bad for a relationship plus the age difference should matter too.
