Will the Vatican ever fall/cease to exist? If so, what would it take for this to happen? Or, why will it never happen?

It's like asking will God cease to exist. It's impossible.

The Church will remain standing as long as people believe in God. God will exists regardless. He was here before us and He will make sure we do what is needed to maintain humanity.

Why do you think that a city connected to just one religion in the world, with ideals not strong enough to protest the Holocaust or the genocide in Darfur, is worthy of calling timeless?  worthy of being even closely equated to god or the creation of the world?  Of course it's possible.  I think that all it takes is a few more monumental mistakes by the church for the world to consider them nothing but something from the past.  In my opinion, Vatican City should be a place where Catholic people can go to pray and feel a spiritual connection.  But, no Pope should have a say in world politics.  It just seems ridiculous.  Why should Rice need to meet with the Pope to talk about the Middle East? 

Assuming there is a god (for the sake of the argument. I'm not taking any stand in regard to that question. Yet), and assuming he's timeless, then the only logical conclusion can be that his existence is in no way related the existence of some earthly religious establishment and its political manifestation.

The catholic church existed prior to the establishment of the Vatican, it existed when the popes exiled from the Vatican to Avignon, so I don't think that the existence of the Vatican is really eternal.

Also, as far as I can recall, other manifestations of God's rule over mankind, which were considered holy, disappeared over time. The Holy Roman Empire ceased to exist, but no harm came to catholicism. Monarchs, ruling as God's representatives, were overthrown. The papacy itself was, for centuries, in no way a religious authority, but a mere position of power and influence in European politics.

To conclude: I think that the papacy and the Vatican state are well established, and I don't see when or why they will cease to exist. However, assuming they will someday cease to exist (as all man-made things are meant to), I believe that the belief in God among humanity will not fade, but perhaps alter in some way. 

Haha, actually the Vatican is collapsing VERY SOON, in fact we may all get to witness the fall of Rome... The everlasting centuries of decadence are now over for this corrupt, evil empire that has been massacreing the most amount of people over any institution to ever exist... The Order of Jesuits run the Vatican, and secretly run and own the Church of England, all of England itself, America, the Israel State and owns the vast majority of land on the planet. The Pope is a secret ruler, and they are all nazis who are involved, including the Jew Bankers. They are all going bankrupt and have had their crowns cast off. But they will make the attempt to throw the planet into a new dark age and plague the planet with mass killing, disease and starvation and force everyone into the New World Order, headquarted from Israel.

But, the Vatican is collapsing for sure. It runs the entire Wall Street and London Stock Market, but that is all going to change.

The Pope is a false God, and the God they truly worship is not the same God of the bible or any other religion. The Knights Templars, and all the men who run the vatican worship "Baphomet", aka Lucifer which is a Cosmic Entity.

God certainly does NOT approve the church, and it was never setup in Peter's name. Afterall, Peter deceived Jesus.

The catholic church has outlived almost every religion in the world. But on the base of which this religion was started was sicking, a jew walking around in a remote place speaking what he thinks is the word of god. He only survives for only like 20 some years untill his Own people the people he loved and cared for chose a criminal over him to live while he gets sentenced to death. One of his most trusted men one of his disciples turns him in. Years later while Catholicism turns takes control of the rome they end up destroying every statue that they think is pagine and kill everyone who have doubts and still beleve in the gods. This is the funny part catholicism was based on love and peace well it doesnt take a geneus to figure out that they leaded one of the biggest mass slauters in history. Which includes the witch hunts and everyone who didnt belive in christianity. This is where most of your ancient torture weapons were created for. Not only has catholicism distroyed,killed,and corupted the people,ancient structures, and religions they have completly forgoten what there religion was based on and even in jerusalem the berthplace of there religion has only 2% of the population beliving in it so it tells you not even they want it there.And now they have these soo called mission trips around the world where they can corupt even more people. I find this sicking,on the other hand  only a few countries have bannded christiananit from there walls and i support these countries and will fight to bane catholicism from more countries. 

But for the second question "what will it take to make this happen"  i believe that a mass killing or something down the line has to happen.

Vatican will fall on 2020 because of so many reasons.
Peter Established church at Damascus not Rome.When Constantine the Roman Emperor made Christianity a socially accepted religion there was a huge twist in Christianity. He started killing the real followers of Jesus and removed many chapters from the bible. Many gnostic Christians  were killed in huge numbers. They took the tomb of Peter from Damascus and established in Vatican. From that time the real followers of Christ were living in underground and when the fall of the 20th century when everything become democratic the real truth will be released from the Tomb of Peter.
