Discuss Bonestructure's answer to: Which Fairy Tale is the Scariest?

Which fairy tale do YOU find to be the scariest? Which would you NEVER read to your kids?

You atheists just have to get your childish insults in at every opportunity don't you?

How can parents be concerned about the PD'd and expurgated, watered down  crap that passes for fairy tales.

In their original form, fairy tales are the original horror stories. They routinely feature child abuse, kidnapping, murder, cannibalism, rape, slavery, mutilation and all the horrors we love now in horror movies. They were originally intended as morality and cautionary tales, to both scare children, because being scared is fun and stimulating, and to teach them there were bad things in the world to watch out for. That's not such a bad thing, you know.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.

"Once upon a time, there were a group of people who were tacky, obscene, depraved, ruthless, perverse, obnoxious, disgusting, evil, wicked, mean, and nasty.  If they had been a little bit worse they could have become lawyers."

And I thought fairy tales were about the gay dentist: the tooth fairy.  Or was that about the gay syndicate crime boss: the fairy Godfather.

We may have trouble thinking about fairy tales, but Jay Ward came up with some great ones for the Rocky and Bullwinkle series in "Fractured Fairy Tales."

As to you, Reginald, how dare you accuse lawyers of being such paragons of virtue?
