On Facebook, having trouble with Farmville opening my farm, can receive gifts and send gifts but farm will not open to play.

If you have a friend with a FarmVille (FV) account, you can click "Play FarmVille Now!" on any of their FV related posts. If not, click on this link (you must sign in to your Facebook account first): http://apps.facebook.com/onthefarm/index.php

  Creating Your Farmer
  FV will ask you to create a character. You can customize your farmer's features and then begin playing!

  Starter Farm
  FV will start you off with 300 coins and 6 plots. 4 of these plots will have seeds planted already and FV will give you a short tutorial on how to harvest the plants that are ready (hover your mouse over the crop and it will tell you if they are ready to harvest, or will tell you how far along they are in the process).

  Wilted Crops
  Once a crop is ready to harvest, you simply click on it and your farmer will harvest it. When you hover over the empty plot, it will let you know that it is now "fallow land" that you can click on to plow. Plowing one plot costs 15 coins and earns you one experience point (XP). Click again on this plowed plot and you will be given a list of seeds to choose from. Pay attention to how much each costs (to make sure you have enough coins to purchase the quantity you'd like to buy) and how long each takes to harvest. If you are heading to bed, for example, you don't want to choose strawberries, which only take 4 hours to harvest. When you wake up in the morning, your crops will be wilted and you will not earn any profits from them.

  Your own personal market
  To expand your farm, meaning more opportunities for income and XP, you must use the plow tool to create more plots. Once you plow, you can either click on the plot to choose which seed you want to plant, or click on the Market button in your FV toolbar. This will bring up all your options for the level you are currently at.

  In order to purchase certain seeds, you must reach a higher level in the game. To do this, you need to earn XP. Read my article entitled "How to Earn Experience Points on Farmville" for tips on how to do this quickly.

  Step 7
  Accepting a Gift
  One of the most fun aspects of FV is giving and receiving gifts! In order to do this, you must first have neighbors. Invite all your friends because each neighbor you have provides more opportunities for coins and XP. Once you have neighbors, click on "Free Gifts" in the tabs at the top of the game. Choose a gift (again, which gifts you are able to send depends on the level of the game you are currently at) and click "Proceed to send." Choose which friend(s) you want to send the gift to and you're all set.
  ** One thing that many people overlook is that you must accept your friends' gift requests before you can use them. When you have a gift request, you will see "Farmville Gift Request" in the top, right-hand corner of your Facebook homepage (NOT your FarmVille page). Click on this and it'll show you which gifts you have been given. Click to accept these gifts and then you will see them in the gift section of your FV toolbar.
