what to expect from a person coming out of a state of confusion due to illness. My mom is 91 and has suffered from a series of infections over the past 6 months and as of today she seems to have come ...
You know you should mention this to her doctor. Perhaps medication is the cause. After talking with the doctor, if I were dealing with this problem, I would be (or try to be) as patient as I could be and simply talk with her and explain (in simple words) what she went through. She is probably afraid because of losing her memory. My mother-in-law was going through a similar episode. She was 98 and we had to show her the kind of patience you show a little child. We didn't tell her too much. We answered all her questions simply and she was satisfied and then in a few minutes she would start in again. These situations take a lot of patience and a great deal of love. Not all older people are easy to talk with in this way. I hope, for your sake, your mother is thoughtful and kind to you as you both learn each other again. God Bless.
I believe Njoy points out two very important facts. #1. "I would be as patient as I could". #2. "as you both learn each other again"
Very Good answer Njoy!!!
